Housekeeping

Hello Fall 2009 ADV3650 Students!

I just wanted to write a post to show you how the email feed updates work, as well as remind you of a few things.

This week coming up, CityTech is closed on Monday, September 28. The next day, Tuesday, Sept 29 will follow a Monday schedule.

Another thing to note, the list of homework assignments written on your weekly homework grade is not up-to-date. Please follow the homework instructions that I give in class.  I adjust the homework assignments each semester to suit the needs of the section and class accomplishments. The assignments may be similar each semester, but they are not necessarily exact. Coming to class on time, and paying attention will ensure that you know every component of the assignment.

Have a great long weekend!

Class 3 Preparation: Domain Name and Hosting Plan Purchased

Students should come to class with their domain name and hosting plan purchased. We will be configuring Dreamweaver in class, so that we can upload files to the server. Remember to bring your username and password which is provided by hosting service and domain registry service.

Note: Class 3 for Tues morning, section 7187 will be this week, Tues, Sept 15. For section 2288, Monday evening class, please be prepared for Mon, Sept 21.

ADV 3650: Online Class for Week of April 6/7

Hello CityTech ADV3650 students!

So here are the instructions for this week’s class.  There are 4 important tasks you must accomplish before our next class (April 20/21).

  1. Set up a WordPress blog on your project site, and select/implement a WordPress Theme. See the instructions on a separate post. (This doesn’t need to exist as part of your final project.)
  2. Post a comment on an earlier blogpost I created  titled “Post Affiliate Programs You Find Here“. List at least 2 affiliate programs you are planning to use on your site, or ones that you found interesting. Describe how each works.
  3. Download the quiz questions, and study for the test. Email me or post comments if you have any questions. I won’t give you the answers to the questions, but I will point you in the direction to find the answers. Perhaps your fellow classmates can help you figure it out with their comments 😉
  4. Build your class project site. When we return to classes after Spring Break, everyone is expected to have their site built. I will be teaching you things that will build upon a completed site.

Have a great break!
