Notes on Web Design
The following students have been selected to present their portfolios to industry professionals this semester. The event is being held at Adobe Offices in Times Square this Thursday, May 23, 4pm–7pm.
Congratulations to the past semester’s winners of the Kionic Awards.
Orlando Arias receives the Kionic Award for Most Promising New Web Designer Fall 2012 and receives $200 for his website designs:

Below are a series of videos for you to watch to get started on your tablet and website portfolios. Watch them to help for technical instruction on using Indesign to create an ebook, and how to install WordPress.

Check your emails for a shared Google Drive folder for the Portfolio course. In it you will find sample resumes and cover letter templates.
You should use these examples as inspiration for your own resume and cover letter development.
Future documents will be shared in this folder, so make sure that you have access to it. If you do not, please be sure to send me your Google account information.
For the next class, be sure to bring all of your work which will potentially be put into your portfolios. As a class we will be critiquing the work and considering whether it is portfolio ready, appropriate for your design focus and career goals, and suggest ways to make improvements.
Also bring your latest resumes.
And finally bring the type combinations that you are considering to use as branding throughout your portfolios, resumes, cover letters, business cards, media package.
